Privacy policy
At Top Hogueras Alicante we respect your privacy and process the minimum information needed to keep the popular vote fair. This policy explains what data we collect and for what purpose.
1. Data controller
The controller is the Top Hogueras Alicante team, an independent non-profit project. You can contact us at tophoguerasalicante@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
You do not need to register or provide a name, email or phone number to use the site. When you vote, for anti-fraud purposes we process:
· Your IP address, to prevent duplicate votes and result manipulation.
· Basic technical browsing data (date of the vote and bonfire voted for).
If you write to us by email, we will process the data you provide solely to respond to your enquiry.
3. Purpose and legal basis
We use this data to safeguard the integrity of the popular vote and to build the ranking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in offering a reliable, fraud-free vote.
4. Retention
We keep the data associated with votes for as long as necessary to maintain the ranking of the relevant edition and its subsequent historical archive, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in an aggregated and anonymous way, how the site is used and to improve it. This tool may store cookies on your device. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except for the technology providers needed to deliver the service (hosting and analytics) and any legal obligations that may apply.
7. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction of processing by writing to us at tophoguerasalicante@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
